Jim “Murph” Murphy sat at the controls of an F-15 fighter jet and realized that the cultural discipline and strategic alignment needed to execute flawlessly in the rapidly changing world of military aviation was unique and awe-inspiring.
Murph strove to translate these combat-proven processes into a simple, scalable, agile methodology that resulted in him starting Afterburner, Inc. in 1996. Today, his process - Flawless Execution - is shared with organizations around the world.Visit Afterburner

After the Air Force, he founded Afterburner and has since landed on Inc. Magazine's Inc. 500/5000 List four times. Murph has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Inc. High Definition Destination A career HDD takes into consideration a lot more than just employer and job title. There are seven key areas that describe a career.
RespectVeterans are respected in the civilian world for their service and their skills. Respect opens the door but how your view yourself keeps you in the game.
What to Seek This equation can not only help you do something you enjoy, employers value, and avoid traps that will leave you stuck or unhappy.
Quantify Value Skills and experience inventory is designed to help you clearly quantify your value to an employer.
Branding Personal Branding skills and advice such as resume crafting, Linkedin, and interview coaching.
Communicating Like a ProExercises and instructions on knowing yourself and your potential employer so you nail the interview.
Your Value Proposition As a veteran, you bring experience in leadership, organization, communication, knowledge management, battlefield operations, and discipline. This LOCKED structure will help you think about how to articulate your value to a potential employer.
Avoiding Pitfalls You will learn how to avoid landmines that most veterans are oblivious to such as civilian language, compensation, and the importance of how you dress.
Rational Progression You will not only learn the right way to build your resume, but you will learn how to customize it for each potential employer and how to leverage networking tactics to put your resume to work.
Comprehensive List We provide you with the best job posting sites and other essential online resources such as LinkedIn tactics, top book lists and other resources that grow or change throughout the year.
This training should be mandatory for all military personnel. It helps demonstrate how the military is relevant in civilian live, not by just saying it is.

Advance is 100% free for all active duty servicemen and women represented by the 5 branches of the military. This is made possible through the generous help of supporters and sponsors who don't just believe veterans are an asset to their companies, but who know that they possess skills and abilities that in many ways are unmatched by civilians.
Each sponsoring company has a desire to hire qualified military-trained veterans. They believe that the Advance tranisition program helps provide a foundation that distinguishes them from the masses.
Our veteran sponsors are not tied to any specific industry. Instead, they are established across common & specialty industries.
Base sponsors are companies interested in supporting transitioning veterans by sponsoring the in-person, facilitator-led workshop for a specific base location. They can send a hiring representative from their organization to connect directly with the base veterans during the workshop.
Virtual pass sponsors help reach the thousands of men and women at a particular base who cannot physically attend the workshop day due to schedule conflicts. This gives 6 months of access to every transitioning veteran at that base, providing each individual with Advance team guidance, advice, on-demand training, assessments, and interview prep.
